Should A 13 Year Old Be Allowed To Dye Their Hair
It is their hair thier life and their money.
Should a 13 year old be allowed to dye their hair. Never apply any kind of semi-permanent or permanent hair color to a child under the age of 8. Leena49 Thu 23-Aug-12 050656. I figured at 13 she was old enough to get highlights or even a full color if she wanted it.
Also I think that it is important to ask yourself as the parent the question of why is it so important to you that your daughter does not dye her hair. She didnt ask me just did it and I worked on the assumption that she was the one living with the consequences and I was fine with. She was also told along with another girl with read hair.
She now likes her hair the natural color. However when it comes to how young is acceptable to color a childs hair you should consider this a strictly parental decision and not accept the word of any stylist who claims to do it on kids all the time. Gentle 10 volume or less deposit only color which means that you are simply adding color or darkening the color is okay for kids over the age of 9 or 10.

My nine-year-old has asked but to me it does not feel appropriate for a little girl to put chemicals on her head to alter her looks says Sally Bonaldo a mother in Lindsay Ont. I want her to do the test as shes never done it before and she is being a typical stubborn moody teenager about it. I also dont want her to put so much value on her appearance.
I would never let my kid permanently dye their hair until theyve at least reached 13 and even then Id probably tell them to start with highlights or try out some semi permanent hair dyes first. Theyre working on it and a little understanding from a parent can go a long way toward getting through those awkward years with their confidence intact. That changes every 6 months or so.
